Lunch (Salt Lake Pizza and Pasta):

  • Green salad/gorgonzola dressing
  • garlic bread
  • artichoke pesto linguine
  • Coke

Dinner:

  • Pollack
  • Red rice
  • curried garbanzo beans
  • whole wheat pita
  • Milk
  • 2 chocolate cupcakes (no icing)

Thursday's Food



I was bad today. I went out for both lunch and dinner, but I still kept to my rules.

Breakfast:

  • VMHC

Lunch (Mazza at 9th and 9th):

  • Cheese and Zaatar sandwich
  • Loobia (green beens)
  • Coke

Dinner (Fratelli’s in the Gravel Pit)

It was opening night here. My wife and I weren’t inspired to cook, and I read in the City Weekly that this place had just opened and were donating the nights proceeds to the Utah food bank. So, we figured…

  • Bread
  • Green salad/house dressing
  • Salmon and veggies steamed in paper pouch
  • Little bit of tiramisu

We walked the usual route when we got home.

Wednesday's Menu

Breakfast:

Lunch:

  • Salad bar (greens, veggies, beans, tuna, honey mustard dressing)
  • Fruit
  • About 8oz. of Coke

Dinner:

  • Bean and veggie burritos
  • Grapes
  • Milk
  • Two cupcakes (no frosting)

Week 2 Day 2 Food

Breakfast:

Lunch:

  • wrap with hummus, roasted peppers, avocado, lettuce and swiss cheese
  • yogurt
  • can Dr. Pepper
  • pretzel chips
  • half a Choxie bar

Dinner:

  • wheat penne with homemade meatballs and tomato sauce (the best I've ever had - thanks honey!)
  • salad
  • garlic bread
  • ice cream

  • Leftover white bean and tuna salad
  • Can Dr. Pepper

Snack:

  • Yogurt smoothie
  • Cookies

  • Grilled cheese sandwich

  • apple
  • peanut butter
  • cookies

We walked the usual route.

First week summary

Well, I managed to keep my goals for the week. I ate a fair amount of fish, but I only ate one chicken breast, and some ground beef in the chili on Saturday. I walked 5 nights. Overall, I don't feel much different. My right hip and hamstring are killing me, though. It woke me up this morning. I don't know if I'm sleeping wrong, or if it is something to do with my knee, or what. Stay tuned.

  • Leftover spaghetti with mushroom sauce
  • salad (lettuce, apples, walnuts, blue cheese dressing)

  • White bean and tuna salad (with walnuts, onions, green olives)
  • Two slices wheat toast
  • Milk
  • cookies
